WINDSOR-The Windsor Hunt Club hopes to enter another annual lease agreement with Isle of Wight County for hunting rights on two parcels of property totaling 592 acres south of town that was recently bought by the county.
In its request expected to be heard at Wednesday’s Board of Supervisors meeting, Windsor Hunt Club President Chester P. Kramer writes that club members have hunted the land for more than 50 years. The current agreement expires on June 30.
The parcels are intended for eventual industrial development.
Kramer stated &uot;the club membership recognizes that future development is essential to the growth of the Windsor community.&uot;
He continued, &uot;However, until such time this property is directly affected, we would appreciate the privilege to continue safe and organized hunting.&uot;
The supervisors’ meeting starts at 4 p.m. in the county administration building on Courthouse Highway in Isle of Wight.
