She was a native of Pineville, W.Va., and was a daughter of the late Robert and Mary Adams.

She was a member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis B. Richardson; a daughter, Janet Deans; five sisters, Lois Stevens, Gladys Hawks, Elda Woods, Eloise Diszynski and Leona Adams; and four brothers, Asa Adams, Vaden Adams, Romeo Adams and Buell Adams.

Survivors include a daughter, Glenna Cross and husband Ed; a son-in-law, Robert Deans; four sisters, Nettie Parries of Mount Erie, N.C., Rita Melancon of Rayne, La., Winnie Payne of Windsor and Monene Marshall of Miami, Fla.; three grandsons, Steven and wife Sally, Robert and wife Crystal, and Dennis and wife Teresa; and five great-grandchildren, Dennis Michael, Daniel, Brooke, Krista, and Anissa Cross.

A funeral was held Tuesday at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Revs. Fred Williams and Ron Acord.

Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
