WAVERLY—Joan Grammer Adams, 71, died Feb. 29, 2008.

Born March 10, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Junie A. Grammer and Julia Harrison Grammer.

She was a member of Waverly Congregational Christian Church where for more than 50 years she was one of the church pianists and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Joan’s enjoyment was her music and family.

She leaves behind a part of her kind and generous self to be with each of us.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Calvin Adams; a daughter, Donna Lees and her husband, Richard, of Richmond; a son, Lewis Adams and his wife, Lynne, of Waverly; two grandsons, Christopher Lees of Boston, Mass., and Ryan Lees of Fairfax.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Waverly Cemetery, Waverly, Virginia, with Pastor Joy Heaton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 583, Waverly, Virginia
