FRANKLIN—Cherie Michele Fowler and Russell Bryan Winstead were united in marriage April 12
at 5 p.m. in a double-ring ceremony.
The service was held at Hunterdale United Church of Christ in Franklin.
The ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Scott Wilkinson, of Greenville, N.C.
The bride is the daughter of Larry and Tammy Fowler of Newsoms.
She is the granddaughter of Ellaree Hyder of Courtland and the late Earl R. Hyder and Julia Fowler of Newsoms, and the late Julian Fowler.
The groom is the son of Charles and Debbie Winstead of Rocky Mount, N.C.
He is the grandson of Ruby Winstead of Rocky Mount, and the late Russell D. Winstead and the late Master Chief George D. Batts and Pauline Smith Batts .
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents while the song &uot;I Loved Her First&uot; was played.
Her gown was satin and taffeta with beaded metallic lace on the bodice and pick up skirt and chapel train.
The fingertip veil was trimmed with beaded metallic lace.
For flowers, the bride carried a bouquet of pink roses, white tulips and hypericum berries that was designed by her cousin, Joe White of Macclesfield, N.C.
Christy Fowler, sister-in-law of the bride, from
Newsoms, served as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Megan Rainey of Newsoms, Courtney Brabble of Wilson, N.C., Caitlin Thuerk of Raleigh, N.C., Mary Formo, cousin of the groom, of University City, Mo., and Kendra Dougherty of Raleigh.
Honorary attendants were Sisters of Delta Zeta Sorority.
The groom chose his father, Charles Russell Winstead, as best man.
Groomsmen were Colt Robbins of Rocky Mount, Andy Snipes, cousin of the groom, of Raleigh, Travis Alford of Allston, Mass., Matthew Casey of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Pete Fowler, brother of the bride, of Newsoms.
Ushers were Rudy Salazar of Wilson and Wesley Story of Newsoms.
Travis White, cousin of the bride of Conway, N.C., was the candle attendant.
Ian Daniels of Courtland and David Pope of Newsoms, both friends of the bride, served as sand attendants.
Nickie Fye, cousin of the groom, of Garner, N.C., attended the guest register.
Brittany Burroughs, cousin of the groom of Waldorf, Md., and Tara Fowler, cousin of the bride of Franklin, were program attendants.
Mistress of ceremonies was Stacy White, cousin of the bride of Conway and Vickie Wilkinson, friend of the groom, of Chocowinity, N.C.
Wedding music was provided by Sherry Pope of Newsoms and soloists.
Charlene Tudor and Travis Sherrod, both of Wilson, who sang &uot;When God Made You.&uot;
Following the ceremony a reception was held at Cypress Cove Country Club in Franklin.
Guests were greeted by Janie Church and Vickie Taylor of Franklin, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Williams of Rocky Mount.
Jeri Daniels of Franklin and Patti Story of Drewryville were in charge of the reception.
Tracy Brown of Newsoms was the photo frame attendant.
Amy Vick, cousin of the bride of Boykins was the gift table attendant.
Danny Daniels of Courtland was the video man for the ceremony.
The last dance for the new couple was sung by Stacy White, &uot;Come Away With Me.&uot;
Music at the reception was provided by SoCo Entertainment, DJ’s Chuck Edwards and Nathan Umphlett.

On Jan. 5, a cocktail party was hosted by Joe White,
Dan Roberson and Mr. and Mrs. James Hutchinson at Myrtle Grove Plantation in Macclesfield, N.C.
On Feb. 3, a miscellaneous wedding shower was given by women of Morton Memorial Presbyterian Church of Rocky Mount, in the fellowship hall.
On Feb. 16 a bridal shower was given by the groom’s aunts and cousins at Morton Memorial Presbyterian Church in
Rocky Mount.
On March 1,
a recipe shower was hosted by Sherry Pope, Lynn Ramsey and Amy Hinson, friends of the bride at Newsoms Baptist Church of Newsoms.
On March 15, a bachelorette party was hosted by friends of the bride in Wilmington, N.C., and a bachelor party was hosted by friends of the groom in Raleigh.
On March 28 an &uot;Around the Clock&uot; shower was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Alan Rainey, Mr. and Mrs. James Church and Mr. and Mrs. Pete Fowler at the home of Pete and Christy in Newsoms.
On March 29,
a &uot;Royal Tea&uot; was hosted by Stacy White and her daughter Kayla White in Conway.
On March 30, a &uot;Just About Time&uot; shower was hosted by Marilyn Crowder and Rebecca Drake, friends of the bride,
at Newsoms Baptist Church in Newsoms.
After a honeymoon trip to The Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Wilson.
