CHAPEL HIll, N.C.—Josie Wartelle Daniels of Franklin and Hoyt Buchannan Doak IV of Chapel Hill, N.C. were married Saturday, Nov. 3,

at Trinity Episcopal Church.

The Revs. Edmund Pickup Jr. of Franklin and William A. Whisenhunt of Asheville , N.C. officiated.

The bride’s parents are Kenneth Daniels Jr. of Krakow, Poland and Munroe Jones and Janet Burhoe-Jones of Swannanoa, N.C.

The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Doak III of Chapel Hill.

The bride is the granddaughter of Erwin Burhoe and the late Donald Burhoe of Asheville. Her paternal grandparents are Rita Blanchard and the late Kenneth Daniels Sr. of Hagerstown, Md. and the late Oliver Blanchard Sr. of Lafayette, La.

The groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Bratton Jr. of Raleigh, N.C. and Hoyt Doak Jr. and the late Jean Doak of Franklin, Tenn.

Janet Burhoe Daniels, the bride’s sister from Franklin, was maid of Honor.

Bridesmaids were cousins Mary Powell Tavel

and Julia Powell Forehand of Windsor,

N.C.; and friends Virginia Camp Brewbaker of Franklin;

Joyce Lin of McLean; Tara Sullivan-Boivin of Bloomington, Ind.; and Sally Dowd Wood of Atlanta.

The best man was the groom’s father. Groomsmen were the groom’s brother, John Doak, and friends David Buckley of Baltimore, Md.; Matthew Eagan of New Orleans; Justin Ferira of Charleston,S.C.; Anders Fjellstedt of Chapel Hill; Martin Olivier of New Orleans; Guru Raj of Atlanta; Niko Schutte of Richmond; and Kyle Sturgeon of Atlanta.

Attendants included the bride’s cousins Margaret Byrd of Asheville and Andrew Daniels of Lynchburg, and the groom’s cousin, Evelyn Doak of Franklin, Tenn.

Lectors were Munroe Jones, the bride’s stepfather, and Pamela Kirkpatrick and Malcolm McLean of Chapel Hill, the groom’s friends.

Soloist was Anna Palumbo of Newport News, friend; the organist and trumpeter were from Asheville.

Acolytes were the bride’s cousin, Kenneth Daniels of

Hagerstown and the groom’s cousin, Jack Fleming of Wilson, N.C.

Flowers by The Ivy Cottage remained for Sunday’s service in honor of the wedding and in memory of family members Oliver Blanchard, Donald Burhoe, Donald Burhoe Jr., Kenneth Daniels Sr., Jean Doak, Dan Hagerty, Elizabeth Jones and Halbert Jones Sr.

The reception was on the Biltmore Estate. The rehearsal dinner, dance, and brunch were at the Biltmore Forest Country Club in Asheville. The bridal portrait is by Mary Moore McLean, friend from Chapel Hill.

The couple graduated from the University of Virginia in 2004. The bride teaches English at Durham Academy.

The groom attends the University of North Carolina School of Medicine at Chapel Hill.
