SMITHFIELD—Vance G. Parker Sr., widower of Dorothy T. Parker, died Jan. 7, 2008, in his home.

Mr. Parker was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church. He retired from Smithfield Packing Co.

Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy, Victory (Jesse), Priscilla (Percy); a son, Mel Allen; a grandson he reared, Juan A. Dominyck (Linda); two sisters, Neola Edwards, Marie Anderson; an aunt, Lucy Burrell; 14 grandchildren;

and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was to be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Little Zion Baptist Church.

Interment

was to follow in Tynes Cemetery.

Pretlow & Chapman Funeral Home staff was in charge of arrangements.
