COMO, N.C.—Kerileigh Donahue Kirwan and Jason T. Futrelle exchanged marriage vows Aug. 11 at the historic Buckhorn Baptist Church in Como, N.C.
Officiating the rite was the Rev. R. Jay Brabban, Ph.D. The reception followed on the shore of the Meherrin River at the Bronco Rod and Gun Club.
The bride was given in marriage by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kevin Kirwan of Franklin. She is the granddaughter of John T. Donahue and the late Eleanor Baker Donahue of Norfolk and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kirwan of New York City.
The bride is a graduate of Franklin High School. She is employed by The Royal Bank of Canada in Murfreesboro, N.C.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Futrelle of Como, N.C.
He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Futrelle of Milwaukee, N.C. and Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Brown and the late Pete Cullins of Como.
He is employed by Franklin Trucking of Isle of Wight County.
The bride was attended by her sister, Stephanie Kirwan as her maid of honor.
Betsy Lanier, April Shellito and Mellisa Smith served as bridesmaids.
Attending flowergirls were the bride’s cousins, Josey Donahue, Kolby Donahue, Kelsey Donahue and the groom’s cousin Emily Owens.
The groom’s father Terry Futrelle acted as best man. Serving as groomsmen were Benjamin Mosly, Robert Owens and Patrick Edwards. Master Jarvis Donahue was the ring bearer.
The couple honeymooned in Nags Head, N.C. Upon their return they will reside in Como, N.C.
