To the Editor:

The conclusion of the Jamestown 400th Celebration Progressive Dinner in Downtown Franklin held Dec. 27 was a great sold-out success.

The DFA, Jamestown 400 committee and Franklin City Council want to thank all guests from our community and visitors from out of town that attended and supported this event. Everyone enjoyed a leisurely, entertaining and informative dinner.

With the help of the Jamestown Settlement Honor Guard (Mike Steen and Jack Oblein), representative Meredith Keplan from the Jamestown 400 Foundation presenting historical Jamestown artifacts, and a film “1607: A Nation takes Root,” it was a nice way to bring history to life right here in Main Street Franklin.

Fred’s, Phinn’s and Pam’s Tea Room provided great food and refreshments for this wonderful evening.

Everyone involved is to be commended for all their hard work that made this such a pleasant and successful event.

The Downtown Franklin Association looks forward to working with all the downtown businesses, the city staff, City Council, visitors and our community to hopefully host similar events in the year 2008.
