WINDSOR—Anne R. Pennywell, 93, died Jan. 1, 2008, at Tandem Health Care Center.

Mrs. Pennywell was born Oct. 1, 1914, in Gates County, N.C., the daughter of the late James S. and Mary (Mamie) Rountree.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Beryl W. Pennywell; her sisters, Nora R. Ward, Lillie R. Ellis and Ollie R. Blanchard; and her brother, Leslie Rountree.

Survivors include her stepdaughters, Judith B. Moseley and Lynne D. McColoskey and husband Michael, all of Wofford Heights, Calif.; her loving niece, Mary E. Carter and husband Delmar of Suffolk; nieces, Marion W. Carter of Suffolk and Edith W. Byrum of Chesapeake; and nephew, C. Thomas Ward and wife Patsy of Gates County.

She was a member of Thalia Methodist Church.

A funeral service to celebrate Anne’s life will be held today at 11:30 a.m. at the Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., with Pastor Arthur Wulz officiating.

Entombment will follow in the mausoleum in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
