SUFFOLK—A. Lucy Williams, 86, died Dec. 31, 2007.

Born May 12, 1921, in Isle of Wight County to the late Annie Sue and Algie Hatcher Butler, she was the widow of John Horace Williams and was predeceased by one sister, Alease Merrette and three brothers, Frant, Ferrell and Ray Butler.

A Methodist by faith, she was retired from Planters Peanuts with more than 30 years of loyal service.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Mary Edith Williams Jernigan and husband James of the Eastern Shore and Ray Williams and wife Peggy of Suffolk.

Also missing her will be her grandchildren, Debbie Totty and husband Bob, Donna Dudley and husband Larry, Wayne Williams and wife Karen, Dennis Williams and wife Sharon and Brian Williams and wife Shirleen; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Totty, Ashley Hardison and husband Allen, Josh Totty, Mary Dudley, Justin Williams, Blake Williams, Kristen Worrell and Rich Worrell; and several nieces.

A graveside service was held Thursday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Richard E. Totty.

Harrell and Hill Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, VA 23439-1515.
