Vadie H. Robinson

EMPORIA—Vadie Louise Hobbs Robinson, 69, died Dec. 23, 2007, in Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond.
Mrs. Robinson was born April 19, 1938, to the late Alfred Hobbs Sr. and Lucy Bradley Hobbs in Greensville County.
She was also predeceased by a grandchild, Keith Raiford.
She was a dedicated member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and for those who knew her she always had a kind word and smile.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Joe Kiser Robinson of the home; her daughter, Vanessa Raiford and her husband Donald of Courtland; her son, Craig Robinson and his wife Jackie of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; grandchildren, Casey Raiford and wife Katherine of Courtland and Justin Robinson of Roanoke Rapids; and one great-grandchild, Ava Leigh Raiford of Courtland; her sisters, Peggy Bailey and husband Ernest and Edla Wray and husband Bobby, all of Emporia; one brother, Alfred Hobbs Jr. and wife Peggy of Emporia; and several nieces and nephews.
Owen Funeral Home in Jarratt, is handling the arrangements.
A funeral was held Thursday in Mount Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Grizzard officiating.
Burial followed in Greensville Memorial Cemetery, Emporia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Emporia.
