FRANKLIN—Martha Annette Warriner Dodson, 80, died Dec. 21, 2007.
A native of Lawrenceville, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Emmitt and Maria Clarke Dortch Warriner. She was a graduate of Mary Washington College and a former teacher in Culpeper and Richmond.
Mrs. Dodson was a member of The Franklin Garden Club, The Franklin Book Club, The Garden Club of Virginia, numerous bridge clubs, and was a former Girl Scout leader.
She was a member of Franklin Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Dr. B. Barham Dodson; three daughters, Sidney Lee Dodson of Richmond; Anne Beverly Moseley and husband, Rory, of Franklin; Louise Barham Henderson of Kill Devil Hills, N.C.; one son, Thomas Austin Dodson of Richmond; six grandchildren, Daniel, Brenton, and Bryan Moseley, Mariah, John, and Martha Henderson; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dodson was predeceased by a son-in-law, John Brad Henderson, and two brothers, Thomas E. Warriner Jr., and David Dortch Warriner.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Franklin Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. A. Richard Childress officiating.
Burial will follow in the Northview Farm Family Cemetery, 2.5 miles off highway 681 at 2219 Pleasant Grove Road, Broadnax, Va. 23920.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to Franklin Baptist Church, 208 North High Street, Franklin, Va. 23851, your local Girl Scout organization, or The Franklin Garden Club.
