VIRGINIA BEACH—Benjamin Wall Brown, 62, formerly of Virginia Beach, died Dec. 17, 2007.

Mr. Brown was born Aug. 20, 1945, in Murfreesboro, N.C., the son of the late James Benjamin and Ruth Wall Brown.

He was the former owner of The Hub of Tidewater men’s clothing store for 17 years and the Amber Ryan Company in Virginia Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Suzanne King Brown; a son, David Ryan Brown and wife Jeannie of Gates, N.C.; a sister, Brenda Brown Watson and husband Parker of Severn, N.C.; a granddaughter, Haley Ryan Brown and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Meherrin Baptist Church with the Revs. Michael Brinkley and Arthur Warren officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of Meherrin Baptist Church today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, P.O. Box 2156, Norfolk, VA 23501-9873, or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

Massey Funeral Home in Jackson, N.C., is handling services.
