FRANKLIN—Police continue to look for information about a string of burglaries in the city, and the list of affected businesses continues to grow.
Deputy Police Chief Bruce Edwards said that two Hunterdale-area businesses — Station One Restaurant and Hunterdale Service Center — were burglarized most recently.
Thieves have broken into five other Franklin businesses a total of seven times since Oct. 9, police said. Those businesses include Fred’s Restaurant, Mabel’s Barber Shop, Janet’s Gifts, Franklin Art and Frame and the Pure gas station. An earlier account of the burglaries incorrectly identified Studio A Photography and Artworks as a victim.
Police said the burglaries appear to be related because of the similar methods used and the burglar’s apparent preference for getting in and out of the businesses quickly and with readily available items.
Edwards said cash and a cash register were stolen in the most recent break-ins.
Anyone with information about the burglaries, or any other crime, is encouraged to call Franklin Crime Solvers at 562-8599.
