FRANKLIN—Freddy and Rita Ashby of Franklin announce the marriage of their son Brandon Edward Ashby to Nicole Marie Thompson, daughter of Donald and Kelly Thompson of Stafford.

They were married on Aug. 18, just one day after their 25th birthdays.

The wedding was held at North Stafford Church of Christ in Stafford with a reception following at the Holiday Inn Select in Fredericksburg.

They honeymooned in St. Lucia the following week.

Ashby is a 2000 graduate of Franklin High School and a 2007 graduate of Christopher Newport University.

Thompson is a 2000 graduate of Brooke Point High School, a 2004 graduate of CNU and a December 2007 master’s graduate from Old Dominion University. Living in Newport News, he is an employment specialist for Wright Choices.

She is employed by Newport News Public Schools as a special-education teacher.
