Lloyd Elliott Sr.

FRANKLIN—Lloyd Elliott Sr., 85, of the 33300 block of Lloyd Drive, died Dec. 11, 2007, at Hampton VA Hospital.

Born in Isle of Wight County, he was a retired farmer. He was a member of Refuge Bibleway Church, Franklin.

Mr. Elliott was a World War II veteran and had received two Bronze medals and a Good Conduct Award.

He was predeceased by his parents, Eva Easter and Rayfield Elliott; wife, Dorothy Barnes Elliott; and two brothers, Joseph Elliott and James Elliott Sr.

Survivors include six daughters, Barbara Brodie (James), Eva Tillery, Dorothy Urquhart (Charles), Joyce Ricks (Floyd), Angela Taylor (Greg) and Lois Eley; five sons, Lloyd Elliott Jr. (Ann), Melvin (Vanessa), Larry Elliott (Brenda), Alan Elliott Sr. (Glenda) and Ralphel Elliott Sr. (Carolyn); sister, Helen Blow; 45 grandchildren; more than 50 great-grandchildren; three nephews; and a brother-in-law, William Barnes.

A funeral was held by Bishop Larry Elliott Friday in East End Apostolic Church, 410 E. St., Franklin.

Burial was in Elliott’s Homestead Cemetery.

Vaughan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
