Franklin remains perfect

NORTHAMPTON–The Franklin High School girls basketball team remained unbeaten with a 63-49 win Thursday over Northampton.
FHS’ junior-varsity girls also picked up another victory, beating the Yellow Jackets 35-18.
Timia Hobbs led the way again for the varsity with 19 points. Keshara Bradley was the only other Lady Bronco in double figures with 10 points.
Janice Holeman cleared the boards with 21 rebounds, 3 blocked shots and 8 points. Other scorers for the Lady Broncos were Kiara Lee with 7; Kierra
Reid, 6; Vonnisha Robinson, 4; Jackina Reid, 3; and Pashawn Hunt, Shanika Carter and Ashley Putnam, 2 each. Carter also had 7 rebounds.
Leading the way for the JV team was Tiara Rogers with 8 points and 5 rebounds. Other scorers were Shaleeta Hicks with 7; Valtonia Shaw and
Victoria Barrett, 5; Mercedes Williams, 4; Tanisha Freeman, Tyesha Anderson, and Eppiphany Britt, 2 each. Shaw had 9 boards and Barrett, 7.
Both Franklin teams are 5-0 and will host Brunswick on Tuesday night. The JV game starts at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity tilt at 7 p.m.
