Mildred R. Modlin

BOYKINS—Mildred Rideout Modlin, 81, widow of Lulian Parker “Mott” Modlin, died Nov. 30, 2007, in East Pavilion.
A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late James Gay and Ella Mae Worrell Rideout.
Mrs. Modlin was retired from the Butcher Block, a member of Clarksbury Baptist Church, and attended Boykins Baptist Church and helped with the nursery when the children were small.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane M. Burgess and husband J.T. of Sedley, Rhonda J. Modlin of Boykins; one son, James F. Modlin and wife Carolyn of Boykins; four grandchildren, Tara B. Kea and husband Trey, Dee M. Clary and husband Jason, Jim Modlin, Tamara B. Johnson and husband Clay; four great-grandchildren, Peyton and Forrest Kea, Parker and Dawson Clary; and a devoted cousin, Kim Francis and wife Jean.
She was predeceased by a sister, Carrie Patuka and a brother, James Franklin Rideout.
A funeral was conducted Monday at Wright Funeral Home Boykins Chapel with the Rev. Durward Vaughan officiating.
Burial followed in Beechwood Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to
