Leroy C. Allgood Sr.

MASCOT—Leroy Calvin Allgood Sr., 83, died Nov. 27, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Allgood was born in Boykins and has been a resident of King and Queen for 18 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII and Korean Conflict.

Leroy was vice-chairman of The Board of Trustees of the First Baptist Church of Hockley. Trustee Allgood was also a member of the Men’s Fellowship and formerly a member of the Hustle’s Club.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 59 1/2 years, Ruth Virginia Giles Allgood; three daughters, Beverly A. Simmons and Susan Allgood, both of Mascot and Gladys Harris (Stanley) of Richmond; one son, Leroy C. Allgood Jr. and Doris Allgood of Glen Allen; three grandchildren, Noel Calvin Allgood and wife, Darshelle, Matthew Allgood and Se’la Allgood; and one great-granddaughter, Amaya Noelle Allgood.

The homegoing service will be conducted at 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Hockley, King and Queen County with Keith L. Parham, Senior Minister, officiating.

Interment to follow at the First Baptist Church of Hockley Cemetery.
