Dorothy B. Holland

FRANKLIN—Dorothy Marie Byrum Holland, 77, died Nov. 22, 2007, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 24, 1929, to the late Oscar and Selma Archer Byrum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. T. Holland and her sister, Lois Byrum Hill of Portsmouth.
Mrs. Holland was a native of Suffolk and a member of Holland Baptist Church.
She retired from Be-Lo Super Market after 35 years service. She spent her life providing for and taking care of her family, which was the most important thing in her life.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her and she will live in our hearts forever.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Council and husband Billy of Atlanta, Ga. and Patricia Talbott and husband Mark of Carson; two grandsons, David Rose and wife Alicia of Kenosha, Wis., Dean Rose and wife, Jennifer, of Charleston, S.C., 11 great-grandchildren, Shyenne Rose and Danny Campbell of Port Orange, Fla., Nika Rose of Kenosha, Tiffany Rose Bailey, Brittney, and Michaela Rose of Nashville, Tenn., Morgan, Connie, and J.T. Rose, Tevin and Jarod Geike, all of Charleston, S.C., one great-great-granddaughter, Le Anne Bailey of
Nashville; one brother, Oscar Lee Byrum of Suffolk, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Carol McCann officiating.
Burial will follow in Holland Cemetery, Suffolk.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
