CAPRON—Corporal Matthew Thomas Edwards married his high school sweetheart Victoria Marie Davis on June 16 at Capron Baptist Church. Pastor Chad Brady officiated the ceremony.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Troy Ray Smith of Capron, was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.

She is the granddaughter of Kenneth and Diane Smith of Capron.

She is a 2007 graduate of Southampton High School.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bruce Comer of Drewryville and Wayne Tomas Edwards of Boykins.

He is the grandson of Howard E. Edwards of Margarettsville, N.C. and the late Jane Gray Smith. He is the paternal grandson of the late Thomas “Jack” Burton Smith and the late Elsie Rebecca Gray.

He is the maternal grandson of the late Alfred “Billy” Wesley Campbell and the late Elsie Virginia Brock and his maternal great-grandmother Mildred “Rita” Murray Campbell Morrison of Tampa, Fla. and the late Barney Cicero Campbell.

He joined the Marines after graduation from Southampton High School in the year 2004.

Megan Davis, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor and Chrissa Lynn Edwards, niece of the groom, served as flower girl.

Bennett Everett, friend of bride and groom, served as best man and Master Caleb Brock Smith served as ring bearer.

After a short honeymoon in Williamsburg, the couple is residing in San Diego where Corporal Matthew Edwards is stationed.
