Efforts to keep streets clean is huge undertaking

To the Editor:

I “piggy back” on Tobey Edwards’ letter to the editor about littering

being a crime in reference to the article by R.E. Spears.

I am a Girl

Scout leader in Boykins and my group picks up trash twice a year.

Many honk to our efforts and residents and passerbys compliment how

nice it looks once we’ve cleaned up. On the other hand, it hurts when

people can have the heart to throw out trash before the state

department can pick up the orange bag. Most of the time when trash is

being picked up through the Adopt-a-Highway Programs, youth

organizations are doing the work. Have a heart and keep your trash in

your car until you can get to a trash can.

In Boykins, trash cans

line our streets. Take littering back to the commercial of the Native

American.
