Pope-Henderson

CANCUN, Mexico—The marriage of Jessica Leigh Pope and Ronald David Henderson Jr. took place April 21 at the Riu Cancun Hotel in Cancun, Mexico. The 3 p.m. ceremony took place at the hotel gazebo overlooking the Caribbean sea.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Gregory Pope of Capron. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Lassiter of Boykins and the late Mr. and Mrs. James D. Pope Sr. of Capron.

The groom is the son of Pamela Henderson and Ronald David Henderson Sr., both of Lynchburg. He is the grandson of Mrs. James Raleigh Cooke Sr. of Madison Heights and the late James Raleigh Cooke Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvis Henderson of Charlottesville.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Jennifer Pope Osborne was her twin sister’s matron of honor. Corri C. Dickerson, friend of the bride served as bridesmaid.

Christopher Henderson, brother of the groom served as best man. Ronald David Henderson Sr., father of the groom served as groomsman.

Following the ceremony, champagne and wedding cake were served. Later, a private banquet was held at the hotel resort for the wedding party and guests. Approximately 20 friends and family were in attendance.

On June 9, the reception was held honoring the newlyweds at Paul D. Camp Workforce Development Center. The tropical themed event was beautifully decorated with Caribbean colors and flower arrangements created by Kay N. Pope, aunt of the bride, and her sister Linda Vick. During the reception, pictures from the wedding in Cancun were on display throughout the reception hall.

David’s of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. catered the event. D.J. Wayne Cooke provided the music.

The couple resides in Richmond where the bride is employed as a senior project manager for Capital One and the groom is employed as a marketing analyst for Wachovia Securities.

Parties

On March 10, a bridal shower hosted by Jennifer Osborne and Corri Dickerson was held at the Osborne home in Mechanicsville.

On March 24, a cocktail party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Marks, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Felts, Mr. and Mrs. John Claud, Mr. and Mrs. Don Decker, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Partridge and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Francis was held at Belmont, the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marks.
