IVOR—Mabel L. Lowe, 86, widow of Haywood Garland Lowe Sr., died Nov. 7, 2007.

She was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and a member of Black Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy L. Davis and husband Raymond of Courtland and Rosalind Faye Lowe of Portsmouth; a son, H. Garland Lowe Jr. and wife Gina of Ivor; a sister Jessie Cobb of Sedley; a brother Stanley Lowe of Walters; four grandchildren Garnet Gilmore and husband Gary, Velvet Georgitsis and husband G.G., Melissa Rose and husband Jerry, Shelly Branche and husband John; four great-grandchildren Amber Alcaraz, Adam Gilmore, Kaylee Branche and Jenna Branche.

She was predeceased by two sisters Dorothy Turner and Helen Duck and a brother Ballard Lowe.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. today in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Revs. Greg Kitts and Willis Switzer officiating.

Interment will follow in Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home of Peggy and Raymond Davis, 22208 Plank Road, Courtland, and suggests memorials be made to Black Creek Baptist Church, 34163 Vicksville Road, Franklin, VA 23851.
