SMITHFIELD—Evelyn Townsend Walls, 81, died Nov. 6, 2007.

She was born in Danville,

the daughter of the late Gus Corbin Townsend and Sallie Scearce Townsend.

She retired from Dan River Mills and was a member of Grace-Design United Methodist Church in Danville.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Judy Walls of Smithfield; grandchildren, David and Emily Walls and Daryl and Megan Walls; great-grandchildren, Andrew and Amanda Walls and Kathryn Walls; and sister, Ruby Finch of Danville.

Friends may join the family today at Wrenn-Yeattes Funeral Home in Danville from 11 a.m. to noon for a time of visitation.

A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. in Highland Burial Park with Dr. Joey Faucette officiating.
