David S. Johnston

CHETEK, Wis.—David S. Johnston, 73, a Franklin native, died Oct. 29, 2007, surrounded by his family after a long battle with lung disease.

Mr. Johnston was born March 4, 1934, to Claire and Virginia Johnston in Franklin.

On Nov. 6, 1954, he married Lois Hollister at Pine City, Minn. He was a longtime livestock dealer. In his earlier years he hauled snow fence, milk and hay.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, hobby farming and traveling.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Roxanne (Dennis) O’Brien of Cameron; sons, Jeff (Julie) and Steve (Kim), both of Cameron; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Crouch of Madison, Va., and Lois (Ken) Lampert of Grand Junction, Colo.; a brother-in-law, DeWayne (Betty) Hollister of Marine on St. Croix, Minn.; sisters-in-law, Shirley Johnston of Chetek and Colleen (Ron) Manecke of Rice Lake; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Johnston; his father and mother-in-law, Ben and Florella Hollister; and a brother-in-law, Harley “Bob” Hollister.

Services will be held at 1

p.m. today at Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron, Wis., with the Rev. Jerry Hibbard officiating. Interment will be at a later date at Wayside Cemetery in Barron, Wis.

Visitation will be from noon until service time at the church.

Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
