COMO, N.C.—Elizabeth Griffin Hayes, 98, widow of Horace Hayes, died Oct. 26, 2007, at East Pavilion.

Born in Murfreesboro, N.C., she was one of 13 children of the late William H. and Mae Hines Griffith.

She was predeceased by her son, Cecil Hayes.

Survivors include a daughter in-law, Barbara Hayes of Franklin; two grandchildren, Melisa Hayes of Florida and Ryan Hayes of Franklin; one great-grandchild Blake Hayes of Richmond and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral was held Monday at Southampton Memorial Park, Franklin with the Rev. John Hackney officiating.
