Clarice Gray

NORFOLK—Missionary Clarice Gray, “Sister Gray,” 58, of 1853 Greenleaf Drive, died peacefully Oct. 26, 2007, surrounded by family at her home.
She was predeceased by her parents, Bernice and Marvin Gray; and sister, Elizabeth Jones.
Mrs. Gray
was a dedicated and faithful member of Saint Paul United Holy Church of America Inc. for more than 35 years under the leadership of Pastor Samuel L. Logan Sr. She will be affectionately remembered as the church van driver.
She was a former employee of the “Original Carolina Restaurant” in the early 70s.
Survivors include her loving and devoted son, Ricky Gray of Norfolk; four sisters, Janie Gray of Virginia Beach, Yvonne Flagler (Leroy) of Suffolk, Emma Chisman (Robert) of York County and Evelyn Hunt of Franklin; five brothers, Marvin Gray Jr. (Doris), Robert Gray and Anthony Gray, all of Suffolk, Michael Gray (Charlene) of Orlando, Fla., and Robert Warren of Washington D.C.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to Dr. Marcia Chantler; Dr. George Saman and Tammi at Virginia Oncology Associates, Nicole with Sentara Bridge/Hospice Program; the doctors and nurses in the Emergency Department, and the staff on 6RP Medical Oncology Unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital; and Ghent Family Practice.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Bethany Baptist Church, 2587 Campostella Road.
Interment will be at Roosevelt Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble one hour prior to service at 964 Reservoir Ave. for procession to the church.
