SUFFOLK—Arto Theodore Brown, 47, of the 6400 block of Crittenden Road, died Oct. 25, 2007, in Sentara Obici Hospital.

Mr. Brown was born in Suffolk and was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Theodore Brown.

He attended Windsor High School. He was a former member of Diamond Grove Baptist Church and was currently a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Windsor.

Survivors include one daughter, Sheona Godwin of Tennessee; his mother, Myrtle A. Brown; one sister, Annette Ricks (James Ricks Jr.) of Suffolk; three brothers, Alex Brown (Sally), James Brown of Suffolk and Leslie Williams (Marion) of Chesapeake; devoted friend, Sherlene Sykes of Chesapeake; two devoted special cousins, Evelyn Blow and Alan Melton; two aunts, one uncle; two nieces, three nephews, one great-niece, three great-nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral was held Monday in Diamond Grove Baptist Church, 6890 Crittenden Road, Suffolk, by the Rev. Dr. Calvin Lillard.

Interment was in Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery, Windsor.
