To the Editor:

Most of us as a part of our value system, tend to appreciate someone who has earned his or her opportunity for advancement.

Sharon Nelms Jones, candidate for Clerk of Court has done by starting at the bottom in the clerk’s office more than 30 years ago. She has learned every single function of this office during those years, day in and day out. She has earned the position of Certified Chief Deputy Clerk.

Sharon Jones has been certified by the Weldon Cooper Center at UVA and has served in that position for 12 years. She has been unanimously endorsed by the Isle of Wight Bar Association. These are the people who know best how the clerk’s office functions.

I doubt anyone running for public office in Isle of Wight County has been as well qualified by both experience and formal training as Sharon Jones. On Nov. 6 please join me with your vote of confidence to continue our service of excellence with Sharon Jones as Clerk of Court.
