FRANKLIN—Ida Askew Still, 75, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, died Oct. 20, 2007, at her residence.
Mrs. Still was born in Henderson, N.C., a daughter of the late George Graham and Katie Mae Hedgepeth Askew.
She was a former member of Parkview Baptist Church in Newport News and was an active member of Buckhorn Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, and cooking.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Harry Arthur “Pop” Still; four daughters, Carol Harris and husband Walter of Newport News, Jean Greene of Hayes, Donna Machado and husband Santos of Hampton, Debbie Jeter and husband Spencer of Franklin; one son, Ricky Still and wife Teri of Yorktown; four step-daughters, Gloria Muther and husband James of California, Brenda Olson and husband John of Manassas, Betty Jo Cates and husband James of Westwego, La.; step-son, Kenneth Still of Hampton; 24 grandchildren; and 31 great-grand-children.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Frances Barnes, three sisters and one brother.
A funeral service was conducted Tuesday in Buckhorn Baptist Church, Como, N.C., with the Revs. Jay Brabben and John Hackney officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, was in charge of arrangements.
