CORAPEAKE, N.C.—Francis Lee “Frank” Allen, 58, of Drum Hill Road, died Oct. 19, 2007, in his home.

Mr. Allen was born in Norfolk and was the son of the late Douglas Roy Sr. and Virginia Elizabeth Ballance Allen.

A retired crane operator with more than 35 years of employment, he had worked with Operating Engineers Local 147 and had served in the Merchant Marines.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sandra J. Harris Allen; two daughters, Sherry A. Jones and husband Dennis of Jacksonville, Fla., and Jennifer L. Williams and husband Paul of Corapeake; a sister, Margaret Ann Lineberry of Chesapeake; two brothers, D. Roy Allen Jr. of Chesapeake and Thomas Gene Allen of Zuni; and two grandchildren, Steven Alexander Byrum and Dayna Nicole Byrum.

A funeral was held Sunday in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main St., Gatesville, N.C. and was officiated by longtime family friend, James Baker.

Following services, at his request, he will be cremated.
