ISLE OF WIGHT—John Harrison Redd, 86, died at his home surrounded by family Oct. 13, 2007.

Born in Nansemond Co. he was the son of the late Lois and Harrison Adolphus Redd. Mr. Redd was preceded in death by his sister Odell Redd Griggs.

He was a member of Community Baptist Church in Suffolk and was a retired farmer.

Survivors include his wife of 60-plus years, Irene Chappell Redd; daughter Lois R. Wills and husband Larry; two sons Harry Lee Redd, and John C Redd and wife Sharon all of Windsor; four grandsons Tony Wills, Lee Redd, Doug Redd and Jesse Redd; four great grandchildren Casey Redd, Chole Redd, Trevor Wills, and Hunter Redd.

The funeral service was conducted Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. in the R. W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home & Crematory by the Revs. David Nichols and Byron McCreary with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
