Anna M. Moore

CHESAPEAKE—Anna Mary Moore, 89, of the 700 block of Battlefield Blvd., died Oct. 12, 2007, at the home of her son.
Born in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late George W. and Lena Weaver Davis.
Mrs. Moore was the widow of Emmett E. Moore Sr. and was also predeceased by two brothers, Carl and Willis Davis as well as a granddaughter, Shannon Moore Couron.
She was an expert seamstress and volunteered in the gift shop of Chesapeake General Hospital where she accumulated more than 6,150 hours of service.
She had worked in the cafeteria with the Chesapeake school system where she retired after 25 years of service.
She was a member of Centerville Baptist Church but had attended Great Bridge Baptist Church for many years.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Sue Pope and husband Carl and Shirley Edwards and husband Kenneth all of Chesapeake; two sons, John H. Moore of Franklin and Skip Moore and wife Nancy, also of Chesapeake; one brother, Chester Davis of Stuarts Draft; two sisters, Catherine Cullin of Waynesboro and Esther Martin also of Stuarts Draft; nine grandchildren, Johnny Moore, David Moore, Carl Pope Jr., Kenneth Edwards, Jody Locke, Angie Evans, Randall Edwards, Jeremy Moore, Kenny Moore; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted at noon Monday in the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake, VA 23322.
The Rev. Charles Moseley officiated. Interment in Rosewood Memorial Park was private.
