Samuel Sharpe Jr.

FRANKLIN—Samuel Sharpe Jr., 74, of the 2200 block of South Street, died Oct. 3, 2007 at Obici Hospital, after a short illness.

Mr. Sharpe was predeceased by his father Samuel Sharpe Jr. and Eugenia Branch Sharpe and sister, Daisy B. Cato.

He retired from the Army after 22 years of service. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, former senior choir member, pastor’s aide, member of the home missionary, member of hospitality and van driver.

He was past post commander of American Legion Post 183.

Survivors include son, Anthony Barnes and daughter, Juanita S. Kindred; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert E. Duck officiating.

Burial will folllow in Southampton Memorial Park.
