Increasing school safety

The Franklin City schools have about $160,000 to spend on added security, namely to install new cameras, digital recorders and hand-held and walk-through metal detectors.
In addition, Franklin Police vehicles will be outfitted with laptops, and, using wireless technology around the perimeters of the schools, the police will be able to assess a situation without getting close to peril.
Schools are supposed to be safe havens for our children. This is another step in the right direction.
