To the Editor:
The 14th Annual Heritage Day at the Southampton Agriculture and Forestry Museum was a wonderful day. This day was dedicated to Edward Lee Johnson who contributed much to the museum with the grist mill and saw mill.
We were pleased to have so many of his family join us.
Many thanks to everyone who helped make this event such a success.
While I can’t name individually all who helped, thanks to the more than 150 museum workers and community volunteers who staffed our work areas and ran the museum equipment, the heritage crafters who demonstrated the old-timey crafts, those who brought animals, engines, tractors and antique cars, the craft vendors, Shiloh Grass Band and the nearly 1,800 visitors who came to share the day.
Thanks to WLQM for broadcasting from our site, The Tidewater News, Suffolk Sun and others who gave us such good publicity.
And many thanks to Jeff Barnes for directing traffic and Hunterdale Boy Scout Troop 125 who helped park cars.
Hope to see y’all next year.
