Dainer F. Robinson

SUFFOLK—Dainer Fortune Robinson of the 100 block of North Fourth Street died Sept. 15, 2007, at Autumn Care Nursing Home.
Mrs. Robinson was born July 9, 1917 to the late Bishop Charles W. and Luzie A. Lowe of Handsom in Southampton County and later of Suffolk.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard S. Lowe, Charlie J. Lowe, Elgin Madison Lowe and Joseph Isaac Lowe; one sister, Flossie Baylee and son, Calvin L. Fortune.
She attended Nansemond Collegiate Institute as a child and later went to New York to continue her interest in fashion design and sewing.
She returned to Suffolk and maintained a steady clientele with her seamstress ability until 10 years ago.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Cross Fortune; grandchildren, Steve Fortune (Cynthia), Dainer Fortune, Kim Lee (Howard), Calvin Fortune Jr. (Annette); nine great-grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
A graveside and burial service will be held at Carver Memorial Cemetery on Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roland Brown officiating.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Wyatt & Sons Funeral Home, 1107 E. Washington St.
Wyatt & Sons Funeral Home Inc., Suffolk, is handling arrangements.
