Annie B. Copeland

WINDSOR—Annie Babb Copeland, 96, died Sept. 19, 2007.

She was born in Isle of Wight County the daughter of the late John H. and Mary “Mamie” J. Babb.

She was also predeceased by her husband, G. Staley Copeland; daughter, Brenda C. Kennedy; son, Royce G. Copeland; grandchild, Carol Kennedy; sister, Georgie B. Stewart; brothers, Willie T. Babb and John H. Babb Jr.

Mrs. Copeland was the oldest member of Colosse Baptist Church where she was very active in the Kann Circle and Adult Bible Class.

She was also a charter member of the Young at Heart Club.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, William B. and Patsy Copeland, John S. and Nelda Copeland; daughter-in-law, Sue Copeland all of Windsor; son-in-law, Bill Kennedy of Suffolk; sister, Mary B. Blythe of Franklin; grandchildren, Roy Copeland, Mary Sue Rawls, Mitchell Copeland, Steve Copeland, Dennis Copeland, Tricia Cahoon, Jenel Sterling, Gail Hunter, Chris Copeland, Ricky Kennedy and Billy Kennedy; 23 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral was held Saturday in Colosse Baptist Church with the Revs. Tim Webb and Wayne Blythe officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, is in charge. Friends may join the family at the residence, 26242 Sunset Drive, Windsor, VA 23487.
