HEATHSVILLE—Four different Windsor High School players scored touchdowns as the Dukes rolled over Northumberland High School 36-7 in a non-district contest Friday night.

Lafayette Murphy scored twice, and Taury Pittman, Kwamane Harris and Brooklyn Presson each scored one touchdown, all on the ground, to lead the Dukes (2-1).

&uot;We came out in the third quarter and the rain came, so we pretty much kept the ball on the ground. We were fortunate enough to be able to move the ball,&uot; said Bruce Carroll, Windsor head coach. &uot;They are a big team. They are not playing well, but athletically, they have some players. We knew that sometime they would have a break out night; we were just praying it would be next week.&uot;

The Dukes jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but like last week, they played poorly in the second quarter. Carroll said his team needs to wake up in the second quarter.

&uot;I congratulated the kids after the game, and that was the end of the positive part,&uot; Carroll said. &uot;If we’re going to be a good football team, we’ve got to play four good quarters. That’s what we have to work on now.&uot;

Carroll said the Dukes played better in the second half after the second-quarter letdown.

&uot;We came out well in the third quarter and really did some good things. We made a goal-line stand in the fourth quarter and got the ball back on the 1-yard line and ran a six-minute, 99-yard drive.&uot;

Windsor hosts King William at 7 p.m. on Friday.
