Mrs. Outten, a native of Windsor, was the widow of William Randolph Outten.

She was former co-owner of Peter Rabbit Nursery School, Port Norfolk and a member of Cottage Place United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Bette O. Ashberry of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Claude R. Ashberry and wife Holly and Jerilee A. Smith and husband Scott, both of Chesapeake; six great-grandchildren, Randy Jr., Dawn, Justin, Danielle, Kelly and Ashley; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk by the Rev. Ruth Burgess. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8 p.m. in Foster Funeral Home, Portsmouth.
