Laid up after a crash, woman got help from home

The people in Southampton County have proven once again what a wonderful and caring community family they are. On June 13, I had an auto accident in which I broke both my legs and I had to be flown to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

In the past 12 weeks, I have received many cards and supportive phone calls and visits. Pino’s in Courtland, Courtland Fire, Courtland Volunteer Rescue, Applebee’s and Relay for Life “Truly Blessed” held fundraisers for me. I would also like to thank Kathy at Hair Den for a wonderful shampoo and cut.

I have been a volunteer with Courtland Rescue and my husband has been a volunteer with Courtland Fire for quite a few years and now I feel like I am being repaid for what I have given to my community. The support from this “Community Family” has been and continues to be overwhelming. I am happy to say that “I love each and everyone of you.”
