SUFFOLK—Carrie Coley Culpepper, 83, of the 900 block of Delaware Avenue, died Aug. 28, 2007, in Autumn Care Nursing Center of Suffolk.

She was born May 9, 1924, in Courtland to the late Sterlin and Mamie Coley.

Mrs. Culpepper retired as a cashier from the Colonial Food Stores after 32 years of service.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse A. Culpepper Jr.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

A private burial was held Thursday in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, handled these arrangements for the family.
