Berardelli-Wright

CARRSVILLE—Mr. and Mrs. James D. Wright Jr. of Carrsville are pleased to announce the marriage of their son, Whitney Wayne Wright, to Katherine Suzanne Berardelli, daughter of Timothy and Pemila Berardelli of Alexandria.

Wright is the grandson of Dewitt and Sara Wright of Carrsville.

An outdoor wedding took place on June 2 at 5:30 p.m. on the Arlie Plantation in Warrenton. The Rev. Dr. Jack Turner officiated. He is the pastor emeritus of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Arlington.

The Rev. Turner also performed the ceremony of Berardelli’s parents in 1969 and her sister, Allison, to Andrew Smuck in 2006.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. Matron of honor was Allison Smuck, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Kappa Alpha Theta sorority sisters of the bride: Amanda Gray and Shira Cantor. Flower girl was Rosalia Cool, cousin of the bride.

Best man was Travis Burruss, cousin and best friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Alpha Gamma Rho brothers of the groom: Wade Ashburn, Stephen Altizer and Bill Smith.

She is a graduate of T.A. Edison High School in Alexandria and received a bachelor of science degree from Virginia Tech in human development in 2002.

He graduated from Windsor High School and received a bachelor of science degree in crops and soils environment science from Virginia Tech in 2002.

They met while attending Virginia Tech.

She is employed with the Fairfax County Police Department and he with Frazier Soil Consulting in Warrenton.

Following their honeymoon to the Dominican Republic, they will reside in Gainesville.
