SMITHFIELD—Laura Lee Jones, 93, died Aug. 17, 2007 in Riverside Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Jones was a native lifelong Isle of Wight resident. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Laura Kate Edwards Jones.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Pansy Johnson Circle. Laura retired as a financial officer of the Merchants and Farmers Bank.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack Melville Jones; her sister, Dr. Emily Edwards Jones; and her brother, Jesse Eugene Jones,

Survivors include her daughter, Emily Anne Jones Furlow and two grandsons, David Colin Furlow and Daniel Alden Furlow, all of Orlando, Fla.; and two nephews, Kippe Gillette Jones and Larry Eugene Jones.

A service celebrating her life will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Will Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Memorial Park.

Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield, is handling arrangements.
