Peggy O. Sheets

WAKEFIELD—Peggy O’Neal Sheets, 64, a resident of Rocky Hock Road, was lifted from her battle with cancer on Aug. 14, 2007.

Born in Bladen County,

N.C. she was the daughter of the late Robert Haywood Jr.

and Georgia Thompson Haywood.

She was

a homemaker.

She

was predeceased by her husband,

William McKinley Sheets Jr.

According to their children, Mom and Dad were like “salt and pepper,” completely different, but always together.

They were born on the same day one year apart, and died on the same day eight years apart.

She is survived by her daughter, Terry Sue Fanney and her husband, Norm, of Wakefield; two sons, Robert William Sheets and his wife, Teresa, of Hampton, and Edward Sheets of Wakefield; grandchildren, Briana and her Ray, Cody, Marisa, Joseph, Jessica, and Emily; and one great-grandchild, April;

two brothers, Tommie Haywood and Bobby Haywood, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also predeceased by a sister, Queen Ester Benoche, and a brother, James Allen Haywood.

Funeral services will be held today at 11 a.m. in Purviance Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home, Wakefield, with the Rev. Jim Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sheets Family Cemetery, Wakefield.
