To the Editor:
I wish to thank Mr. Joe H. Drake of Newsoms
for his &uot;Your Turn&uot; article, &uot;OLF? Don’t need it.&uot;
The article was astute, precise and very well written.
I sincerely hope all of your readers have an opportunity to read it.
This proposed touch down/take off strip (strips — for I’m sure there will be more than one) will
do more to undermine the economy of this county than anything I have seen lately.
If the people who currently live in the immediate area of Oceana don’t want what they deliberately chose to build next to, why in the world does anyone think that we are so ignorant as to want it?
The taxpaying residents who could afford to (and some who could not afford to) would be leaving here like rats from a sinking ship.
Immediate monetary gain is not sustained gain and will not afford the influx of income for the county that is being implied.
Again, thanks to Mr. Drake and please register my and my husband’s votes against this OLF.
