Reginald A. Spain

DINWIDDIE—Reginald Allison Spain, 81, died Aug. 7, 2007.

Mr. Spain

was the son of the late Harold Emmett Spain and Faith Elizabeth McLemore Spain and husband of the late Grace Marie Holland Spain.

He was predeceased by brothers Harold Emmett Spain Jr. and Randolph Thomas Spain and son-in-law Charles David Payne.

Survivors include son Larry Spain and wife Patsy of Pulaski, Virginia; daughter Cheryl Bass and husband Lloyd of Courtland, Virginia; daughter Marilyn Payne of Franklin; daughter Jean Creech and husband John of Franklin; daughter Beverly Myers and husband Tom of Franklin; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was retired from the Petersburg Post Office.

A graveside service was held at Thursday in Blandford Cemetery. The Rev. Steven R. Gupton officiated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Petersburg-Colonial Heights SPCA or any local animal shelter.

The family was served by the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
