SUFFOLK—Elizabeth Cross Holland, 98, died Aug. 7, 2007, in Autumn Care of Suffolk.

Mrs. Holland was born Dec. 11, 1908, to John T. Sr. and Grace Wright Cross in Nansemond County, Virginia.

She was predeceased by her husband, Garland Augustas Holland; a stepdaughter, Nancy H. Duke; a brother, John Thomas Cross Jr.; and a stepgrandson, Calvin Duke.

Survivors include a stepgranddaughter, Joan D. Parker of Franklin; stepgreat-grandson, Clay Duke of Newport News; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Holland was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, the Ladies Bible Class, Etheleen Corbett Circle and the church choir.

The funeral was held Thursday in the Sidney F. Harrell Chapel of Harrell and Hill Funeral Home with the Revs. Jim George and Ben Powers officiating.
