George E. Stuck Sr.

CARRSVILLE—George Edmond Stuck Sr., 74, died Aug. 2, 2007.
Mr. Stuck was a native of Mount Rainier, Md., born to the late Clifford R. and Leta Stuck.
He was predeceased by his &uot;second mom,&uot; Erma Baines Tonkin; a sister, Patsy Linder; and three brothers, Cliff R. Stuck Jr., Donald P. Stuck and David J. Stuck.
He was a 1953 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth where he played the French horn in the band.
He was also a 1963 graduate of Allied Institute of Technology in Chicago with a degree in mechanical engineering.
He was a retired mechanical engineering technician having been employed at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Newport News Shipbuilding and several local marine engineering firms. He also served in the Army and National Guard.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Alice Jane Tonkin Stuck; three sons, George E. Stuck Jr. and wife Tonya of Isle of Wight County, J. William Stuck and wife Amy of Suffolk and Daniel G. Stuck and wife Jennifer of Carrollton; six grandchildren, Jason C. Stuck, Jordan M. Stuck, Chandler B. Stuck of Isle of Wight County, Taylor L. Stuck, Wyatt Baines Stuck of Suffolk and Brandon G. Stuck of Carrollton; two sisters, Natalla Hall and Marion Jackson, both of Portsmouth; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Lisa Blackmonson.
Burial followed in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
